FANUC A90L-0001 fan cross-reference
The label on a FANUC cooling fan carries a FANUC part number such as A90L-0001-0581, while the fan itself was made by Sanyo Denki or NMB under a different model number. The table below maps the FANUC numbers we carry to the manufacturer models, with voltage, current and frame size, so you can confirm a replacement before you order.
How to read a FANUC A90L-0001 part number
- A90L-0001 is FANUC's part-number series for cabinet cooling fans used in CNC system units, servo and spindle amplifiers, and display units.
- The 4-digit suffix (-0507, -0581, -0598 and so on) identifies the specific fan assembly.
- A trailing revision mark (#A, #B, /R, /RS) marks a variant. Revisions can differ in current draw, connector or blade design, so match the full part number printed on your original fan, suffix included.
- The second number on the label (9WF..., 2410VL..., 1611KL...) is the manufacturer's model. Parts distributors list fans under this number, which is why a cross-reference is needed when you search by the FANUC number.

Reading the manufacturer model numbers
The Sanyo Denki 9WF number encodes the frame size. 9WF0624 fans measure 60×60×25 mm and 9WF1224 fans measure 120×120×38 mm. The larger frame moves more air, which shows in the current draw: 0.32 A for the 12038 unit in the table against 0.09 to 0.15 A for the 6025 units. Current production is listed in the Sanyo Denki San Ace DC fan catalog.
NMB numbers work the same way. 1611VL-05W-B49 is a 40×40×28 mm frame and 2410VL-S5W-B59 is 60×60×25 mm. NMB publishes its DC axial fan range with datasheets for each part number.
One FANUC number can map to more than one manufacturer model. A90L-0001-0511 shows up with two: the Sanyo 9WF0624H7D03 and the NMB 2406VL-S5W-B79. When your label carries two numbers, order by the full label text and let the supplier confirm the exact match.
Which specs must match when replacing a fan
- Voltage. DC 24 V and AC 200 V fans both exist in this series (see A90L-0001-0548/R), so never substitute one for the other.
- Current draw. Stay within the original rating. FANUC units monitor their fans, and an out-of-range fan can trigger alarms.
- Frame size and thickness. The fan must seat in the existing shroud; a 6025 will not fit a 4028 mount.
- Wire count. Two-wire fans just run, three-wire fans add a tachometer signal, and four-wire fans add speed control. Match the original.
If the amplifier still reports an overheat alarm after the fan has been replaced, the fault may sit in the drive itself. Our FANUC A06B servo amplifier troubleshooting guide covers the next checks.
Frequently asked questions
What do the #A, #B, /R and /RS suffixes mean on A90L-0001 part numbers?
They mark revisions or variants of the same fan assembly. Revisions can differ in current draw, connector or blade design. Match the full part number including the suffix when ordering a replacement.
My fan label is damaged and only part of the number is readable. How do I identify it?
Send a photo of the fan together with the FANUC unit's model (system unit, amplifier or display) to moritta@koeed.com. We identify it from frame size, wire count and mounting holes, then confirm stock before you pay.
Can I replace a Sanyo 9WF fan with an NMB fan of the same size?
Sometimes. When voltage, current rating, frame size, thickness and wire count all match, the two are usually interchangeable. Verify each spec against the table above before ordering, or ask us to check for you.
Are these new fans or used pulls?
Listings state condition per part. Every order ships with a 1-year warranty regardless.
Do you ship worldwide?
Yes. DHL, UPS, TNT, FedEx and EMS. Send your part numbers and quantities and we will confirm stock, quote and delivery time in one reply.
